The KuibyshevAzot Work Results in the Year 2009. 04/02/2010 13:31:31
In the year 2009, despite the fall of demand due to the world economic crisis and a forced production drop within the first six months, KuibyshevAzot JSC finally managed to ramp up the output in the most production items. It became possible because of the purposeful work for technical re-equipment and updating of the basic production assets over all last years.
For the whole history of the company, there was achieved maximum output in production of:
- caprolactam – 175,3 k tons, that is 6% more than in the year 2008;
- ammonium sulphate – 448,4 k tons (+4.4%);
- ammonium nitrate 500,5 k tons (+1 %).
There was grown the output of the following products with higher added value: polyamide-6 – up to 86,6 k tons (+11.7%); technical yarn – up to 6,3 k tons (+9.8%) and cord fabric – up to 5,0 k tons (+5.4%). The process gases generation – argon, oxygen and hydrogen – was increased too.
There were produced mineral fertilizers (equivalent of 100% nitrogen) in the amount of 413,3 k tons (101% from the level of 2008), including urea - 312,6 k tons (99,5% from the level 2008). The volume of ammonia production came to 556,9 k tons (91% from the level of 2008).
At the same time, despite the considerable growth of production output and mastering of new capacities but resulting in nature conservation measures, the actual gross emission into atmospheric air in 2009 was reduced by 8.2%.
As the result of reconstruction and modernization of the operating equipment, implementation of resource-recovery technologies, in the year 2009 there were decreased raw materials consumption rates as follows: for trichloroethylene - by 25%, for hydrogen to produce benzene caprolactam – by 15% and for steam to produce urea – by 9.4%. Besides, there were cut down discharge coefficients for natural gas, phenol and benzene.
In connection with the necessity of cutting down expenses and in the network of crisis managing programme, there was held up the fulfillment of a number of technical arrangements, which do not influence the strategic development of KuibyshevAzot JSC. However, the realization of the main, planned and already begun projects was gone on. There was put into operation a new air separation unit. There were finished installation-and-construction works at the 4th polyamide production plant and there was commissioned a high-pressure gas pipeline.
In total, for construction and technical re-equipment, there were spent 1 436.4 mm Rubles; there was made a major overhaul at the company’s objects for 956.3 mm Rubles. Thus even in a difficult period 2.4 b Rubles were forwarded to the enterprise renewal.
In connection with the demand cutbacks, sharp drop of prices for the produced products and the influence of economic crisis, the company’s financial performance in 2009 is lower than that in the previous year. The marketable products sales volume was 16 b Rubles, and this is by 16.5% less than that in the year 2008. Net profit was cut down to 279.8 mm Rubles.
Despite the complicated situation in the beginning of 2009, the company went on pursuing a policy of ensuring the social security of its personnel. In KuibyshevAzot JSC there was not any reduction of staff or of the length of working-day; no social programme was rolled back.
