Caprolactam

CAPROLACTAM C6H11ON

Caprolactam is made by synthesis using benzene.

Application:

Caprolactam is used in the manufacture of synthetic fibers, polyamide resins and engineering plastics.

Caprolactam is produced in crystalline (solid flakes) and liquid (molten) form.

Packing

Crystalline caprolactam is packed in 25 kg PE and paper bags.

Liquid caprolactam is delivered in 40 t and 50 t rail tank cars.

Storage

The flaked caprolactam is stored in closed rooms. Liquid caprolactam is kept in tanks under a N 2 atmosphere.

Transportation

Crystalline caprolactam: covered rail cars, high capacity containers or covered road trucks. Caprolactam is transported in a liquid state in thermally insulated heatable rail tank cars.

Storage life: Crystalline caprolactam: 2 months, liquid caprolactam: 15 days
