The social policy of the company is aimed at ensuring social security of the employees maintaining stability and a favorable psychological climate in the collective. KuibyshevAzot OJSC is implementing a number of programs as a key to motivation of the personnel.
HOUSING PROGRAM
The company helps its employees to solve their housing problems. There is a regulation on assistance in purchase of flats where the employees may pay on an installment plan within 20 years and it allowed for 58 employees to purchase flats and 50 employees to improve their living conditions in 2007.
MEDICAL CARE AND PROGRAMS SUPPORTING A SOUND WAY OF LIFE
Health care and recreation of the personnel are important constituents of the social policy. This activity involves an efficient medical aid including preventive examination, treatment and recovery period to reduce sickness rate at the company and to prevent occupational diseases. The employees are offered up-to-date treatment by the internal medical department and external medical facilities. The program is financed partly through a voluntary health insurance, where the company pays half of the insurance contribution.
In the 1990s KuibyshevAzot OJSC managed to maintain its social infrastructure and is persistent in its further development. The company has its own medical department, the "Stavropol" sanatorium, the "Podsnezhnik" recreation center, " Druzhba” yacht club, catering facilities, the hotel and the hostel.
For going in for sports the enterprise operates a number of gyms, the tourist club " Horizon", sports and fitness sections. Another line of the social policy is the development of yachting in Togliatti and in the region. 40 years ago the “Druzhba” yacht club was established at the Volga riverside. It is completely financed by the enterprise. The company’s yachtsmen take part regularly in the Russian, European and world regattas showing good results. Along with Moscow and Saint Petersburg Togliatti is among three major Russia’s yachting centers, the merit of “Druzhba” yacht club is undoubted. A special attention is given to children's sailing. The company takes part in construction of the biggest in the Povolzhskiy region sports school included into Olympic reserve for youngsters on the basis of the yacht club.
The company renovates its policlinic involving purchase and installation of new equipment. In 2007 KuibyshevAzot spent about RUR 90m. for medical assistance, maintenance and improvement of the social facilities.
Facilities invested in realization of health recovery and recreation program and skilled medical assistance let maintain positive dynamics of reducing employees’ disease incidence. If compared with 2006 a number of cases of employees’ temporary incapacity for work decreased by 2.6% (based on 100 people employed). Besides, the average duration of staying on the sick list dropped by 7,8% from last year.
SOCIAL PROTECTION OF PENSIONERS, SPONSORSHIP AND CHARITY
Among the priority goals of the social policy of the enterprise is non-public pension program for the employees. A special program is targeted at establishing the environment to improve the material welfare of the pensioners who are released from work and includes one-time grants and monthly additional cash payments.
The enterprise takes an active part in municipal and regional charity projects. The support is rendered to preschool establishments, comprehensive schools and clinics, orphan houses and boarding schools. The employees personally take part in purpose-oriented programs, such as “For our Victory”, “Let’s do good together” and others. “KuibyshevAzot” supports development of culture and sports and is one of the sponsors of the hockey club “Lada”, the many-time European and Russian champion.
A special concern of the social programs is the patronage over the “Vasiliy Tatischev”, a liaison warship of the Baltic fleet of the Russian Federation. The employees of the call-up age and the children of the employees do military service on this ship.
Total charitable and sponsorship expenses in 2007 made up over RUR 16,4 m.
