The well-educated and skillful personnel is one of the most important and valuable assets of the company playing a key role in our net worth increase. Bearing this in mind KuibyshevAzot carries out an active personnel policy as an entire coordinated system including recruitment, training and further training of all personnel categories. Higher emphasis is being placed on providing conditions for developing creativity and business initiative of the staff.

Due to recruitment of staff for the newly started capacities the number of personnel has been steadily growing in 5 recent years. In 2007 the number of personnel increased by 1,7% from 2006 and averaged to 5,438 employees, out of which 91.2% is involved in production. The average age of employees is 41.

Personnel policy-making of the company is based on social cooperation and the following key principles:
- Creation of more favorable conditions for labor and social protection of the personnel than those stipulated by law and regulations. Here “KuibyshevAzot” OJSC follows the provisions of the Collective Bargain Agreement as a main document defining relations between an employee and an employer. Over the years the Collective Bargain Agreement of the company is recognized as the best in the region.
- Securing safe labor and social environment at workplace keeping in mind employees’ safety and health protection as a priority.
- Regular availability of clear and true information on the company performance, its position in the industry and future development for the employees. The existing practice of regular meetings held in the organizational departments and attended by top managers contributes to this.
- Securing a competitive wages based on the company operating results and professionalism, responsibility and labor efficiency of each employee.

The important constituents of the personnel policy aimed at replenishing labor potential of the company are:
- The patronage of schools 65 and 75 involving their vocational orientation
- The further education at technical colleges and higher educational institutions.
- Vocational practice directly in the company.

Such policy provides inflow of new competent personnel familiar with well-defined corporate culture and traditions and gives an opportunity for promising young people to get free education.

All up-to-date instruments of training such as seminars, trainings, probations, special training and developing programs, e.g. the presidential training program, are used at the enterprise.

In 2007 the program of professional skills improvement and retraining covered 3.171 employees, 58% of the total number of personnel. 2.572 employees or 81% were trained in the Internal Personnel Training Center which plays an important role in implementing the program of personnel development. It was established for improving the quality of employees’ skills and training for new jobs required in the company.

The issues of human resource development are solved while involving leading educational establishments of the city and the region. In 2007 on the account of the enterprise 599 young employees studied at the higher and specialized educational schools. KuibyshevAzot cooperates with the Togliatti Chemistry and Technology College, the Samara State Technical University, the Togliatti State University, the Tatishchev Volzhsky University, the Togliatti Technological Institute of Service, etc.

The company developed and introduced a multilevel program of creating a social and psychological basis of the corporate culture including sections of psychological training and personnel support such as lectures, target trainings, psychological diagnostics and consulting classes.

The planned personnel attestation, regular rotations and probations of specialists and managers are performed to build a personnel reserve. Regular competitions of professional skills help to spot promising young engineers and technicians.

The company improves material and nonmaterial motivation allowing for each employee to be promoted and get an adequate reward for his competence and personal contribution to the company.
